Are you ready to conquer your demons?
I hope so. Because if you are, I’m ready and eager to help.
Whether you feel exhausted by stress, an endless series of bad breaks and misunderstandings, or feel you made some big mistakes and can’t turn things around, I’m here to help.
Feeling crippled by anxiety, trauma, or substance use is no way to go through life. It feels hopeless when so many attempts to change have failed.
Don’t let the past dictate the future anymore. It’s time to craft a new narrative. Let’s work together and manage challenges, so they stop managing you! Recovery is possible.
I see you as a unique puzzle requiring a unique approach.
One thing that’s become clear to me is that different approaches work for different people. The one-size-fits-all strategy tends to fall flat on its face. Clichés heard in therapy can feel condescending – the famous “and how does that feel” nauseates me, too!
Being genuine is extremely important. After we zero in on the cause of your pain, we can start crafting solutions. I have a large repertoire of experience to draw on with proficiency in several modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, 12-step facilitation, cognitive skills, DBT, trauma-informed counseling, existential therapy, and much more. We will find the tools that work for you. As a client of this practice, you are the number one priority.
Changing your narrative will change your life.
We use stories to help us make sense of our lives. Paying attention to what happens in the mind can revolutionize life.
It’s no secret that how we think plays a huge part in how we feel and live. Having self-defeating narratives can cause those thoughts to become a reality.
Consider how much potential gets blocked by thoughts like, “It’s too hard,” “I don’t have the time,” “I don’t want to be judged,” “If I ask this question, I might look stupid,” “I don’t think I can handle anything else. I’d fail if I try to go any further in my career.”
What would get accomplished if we weren’t bullying ourselves all the time?
Our mission is to provide you with the best therapy…
Waters Counseling provides a comfortable, casual, relaxed, and nonjudgmental atmosphere. The office is furnished with a comfortable couch, desk, side chair.
Never mind how the media depicts therapy. It isn’t that awkward in real life, I promise. You could expect to sit down and have a meaningful conversation about your challenges.
The first objective is to get to know each other and explore the events leading up to the call for help. During the process, it will be important to share about your family, childhood, medical history, medications, history of therapy, or treatment attempts – to name a few.
We will look at when things started going downhill and wrap our minds around the issues to the best of our ability! Accurate diagnosis = effective solutions. In following this process, I will be able to understand you in the context of your life and challenges.
Other aspects of the process may include homework assignments to learn about or use coping skills, take healthy risks and find skills that help with moving forward in life. Overall, the goal will be to help you get where you need to be!
When you’re here, you’re a VIP.
When you’re here, your well-being is the number one priority. My goal is to constantly exceed expectations, ensuring everyone leaves with more than they came in with.
Priorities of the practice Include accommodating schedules, collaboration with family or friends, and support to help achieve the best possible outcome. You will feel supported, validated, and cared for.
Most importantly, you will no longer be alone.
Get ready for clarity, confidence, and fortitude…
Feeling confused and alone will start to become distant memories as therapy progresses. A sense of efficacy and confidence in self will result. No longer helpless and hopeless, a brighter and more meaningful future will become a reality.
Being down-to-earth, practical, and optimistic describes me best. Having an open mind, humility, and confidence are invaluable as a therapist.
I tend to operate from the perspective that the client is most knowledgeable of their own life, usually a treasure trove of hints and clues to unravel during therapy. Therapy is more of a partnership than anything else. Sometimes the process can resemble a think tank, and at others can be like archeology, dusting away debris that covers hidden gems.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that growing pains weren’t part of the process. I like to think of change similar to a blacksmith shaping a piece of steel. Life can feel like we’re being placed in the fires of challenge. However, in the end, we realize that it was the heat that softened us to become the most beautiful finished product. The most profound discovery one can make is of themselves. The good news is that you’re not alone. My goal is to be there, supporting you every step.
I know this is a big step. I also know you can do it.
Please don’t let fear or doubt hold you back from reaching out. It takes a ton of courage just to pick up the phone or click the paper airplane button on the email. Don’t let that stop you. There’s no change if there’s no change.
If you can relate to the information and have a sincere desire to change, we’d probably make a great team. If you’re willing to talk about issues and not sure if it’s time to go all-in, that’s okay.
The only thing I ask is that you’re willing to have a conversation, no pressure.
One of the best ways to determine whether we’d work well together is to call for a consultation. They’re always free.
